Our Team

Team 486, The Positronic Panthers, at Strath Haven High School, has participated in the US FIRST Robotics Competitions for over 10 years. Every year we've had 2 mentors, Bruce Landolph and Larry Soscia. They have stuck with us since the beginning and continue to show their enthusiasm in the construction of the robot. Bruce Landolph generally handles the mechanical and design process while Larry Soscia leads the CAD design team and the woodworking processes. The team generally consists of 25 dedicated students and a few volunteer parents. During the build season everyone works countless hours on the robot. Students program, design, and build the robot. During the off season students learn to program prototype robots and understand the important parts that make up our robots.
